Overview
Step away from the tourist trail and into the heart of a Cairene home. Spend an
intimate evening with a local family, learning how traditional dishes are made
from scratch — rice with vermicelli, molokhia, koshari, and more. As you cook
and dine together, you’ll gain insight into Egyptian culinary heritage, family
traditions, and the daily rhythms of life in Cairo.
This isn’t just a meal. It’s a shared story — prepared together, savored together,
and remembered long after you leave.
Arrive at a welcoming home in central Cairo. Your hosts will show their kitchen and explain key Egyptian ingredients and cooking techniques
Join in preparing dishes such as: • Koshari – Egypt’s beloved mix of rice, lentils, pasta, and crispy onions • Molokhia or Mahashi – leafy stew or stuffed vegetables • Fattah or Mossaqa – layered rice-and-bread or eggplant casserole
Enjoy the fruits of your cooking — a multi-course meal at the family table. Dessert and drinks like mint tea or sahlab, and stories flow naturally
Chat with your hosts about life in Cairo, family traditions, favorite recipes, and even play a game of backgammon — a local staple.
We’ll arrange private transport from your hotel (Cairo/Giza area) and back — seamless and comfortable
