Overview
Leave the crowds behind and follow the Nile north to two of Ancient Egypt’s
most powerful sacred sites: Abydos, the cult center of Osiris and eternal
kingship — and Dendera, the cosmic temple of Hathor, goddess of love, healing,
and the stars.
This LokalWalkers day trip invites you to explore temples less visited, but
deeply felt. Walk through Seti I’s Temple at Abydos, one of the finest
preserved and artistically profound structures in Egypt, where the Osirian myth
and the Abydos King List are carved into eternity. Then descend into the
zodiac-filled ceilings and star-chambers of Dendera, where priests aligned
rituals to the cosmos.
Led by an Egyptologist or heritage guide, this is a journey into the mystic
dimension of Ancient Egypt — one you won’t find in mainstream tours.
